Brazil nuts and other surprises

A number of surprises, mostly pleasant !

• No foreign tourists at all, much less backpackers (not the season ?) The Brits never come… ?
• No smokers in Brazil – we can’t have encountered more than 20-odd in over 3 weeks !
• No coffee either ! At least not after breakfast time when away from posh city neighborhoods (just occasional cafeinhos, tiny syrupy stuff, free in some hotel lobbies)
• And best of all, no mosquitos!! Again maybe not the season ? Even in the Amazon the few I encountered were nothing compared to what we have in Ste Bazeille!
• Oh, and no Brazil nuts, only Castanha da Para…
